Dr. Akshay Sood grew up in India (Chandigarh).
He did his medical school training at the All-India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi. Following completion of medical school, did postdoctoral bench-side research for two years in uropathology at Johns Hopkins Hospital. Residency training in general surgery and urology at Henry Ford Hospital, Detroit, with Dr. Mani Menon. Currently, a fellow of Society of Urologic Oncology at the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center. He has published 175+ white papers. Interested in pelvic urologic cancers. Loves to hike (with his dog), paint, read, and swim.
